Keyless entry with Nuki: a code for each guest
By GuestChat Team ·
Handing out keys or sharing the same code with every guest works until the day it does not. With a connected Nuki lock, each stay gets its own access.
Connecting the lock
In Settings, in the Nuki Smart Lock section. The property profile tells you whether the lock is connected or offline.
One code per guest
If you have a Nuki keypad, the property profile shows Give each guest their own code:
- Each guest gets a 6-digit code.
- It only works during their stay.
- They see it in their virtual keyring, and it deletes itself when they leave.
The virtual keyring
The guest opens the door from their phone with one button. First they have to complete online check-in: arrival time, departure time and their email. That way you know when they are arriving before they arrive.
Cleaning, repair people and visitors
For the plumber or a one-off cleaning, there are Temporary keys, in your profile menu: you enter who it is for and until when, copy the link and revoke it when they are done. In Access Codes you can also create a code by hand, valid for 48 hours.
If the lock disconnects
It is checked every few minutes, day and night. If it goes offline, you get an email and a report is opened; and another alert when it comes back.
