The channel calendar: change prices and dates by range without fear
By GuestChat Team ·
Changing the price of a long weekend on three different booking sites, one by one, is the perfect recipe for getting one of them wrong. In the dashboard's Calendar you do it once and it goes out to every connected booking site.
Where it is
In the top bar, Calendar. The page is called Channel calendar: prices, availability and restrictions synced with your channels. It has three tabs: Reservations, Calendar and Settings.
In the grid, the small number on each day is the published price for that night. Click a free day to edit it; click a booking to see the guest.
A single night
Click the day and change what you need: price, open or closed. When you save, it's published. You'll see "Published to your channels — prices and availability updated." once it has gone out.
Many nights at once
This is the part that saves the most time:
- Click the first day of the stretch.
- Click the last one. The stretch is now selected.
- In the range editor, each field has its own switch. Only what you tick changes.
- Save changes to range.
Whatever you don't tick stays as it was on each date. If there was a Saturday with a special price in the stretch and you only change availability, that Saturday keeps its price. The editor itself reminds you: leave the price empty and the availability unselected so you don't touch them.
Open and close quickly
- Reopen these nights or Open this month to put them back on sale.
- Closing a stretch blocks it on every connected channel.
- If you click a closed period, the dashboard finds the whole stretch from where you clicked and lets you reopen all of it or move its dates.
And one reassurance: opening never puts a sold night up for sale. If any of them had a booking, it stays closed.
Advanced restrictions
Below you have minimum stay, maximum stay, and days with no arrivals or no departures. The dashboard itself says it: most people don't need to touch them every day, because price and open or closed cover day-to-day needs. Use them for long weekends and high season.
Good things to know
- Past dates are read-only.
- If you close with unsaved changes, the dashboard warns you before you lose them.
- If the property isn't connected to any channel, you see a preview: you can look, but not publish.
- The All bookings button, at the top right, takes you to the full history, including canceled bookings, which are left out of the grid on purpose.
Common mistakes
- Changing the base price in Settings thinking it only affects days without a price. The base price republishes every day with that value, including the ones that had their own. To adjust a stretch, use the range editor.
- Selecting the stretch with one day too many. The night of the last day you click counts: if the guest checks out on Monday, the last night is Sunday.
- Closing on the booking site instead of here. What you close in the dashboard closes everywhere; what you close on a booking site only closes there.
Where to start
Set the base price in Settings, mark the weekends and public holidays for the next three months with the range editor, and check in the grid that the small number on each day is the one you expected.
