Automated messages: the ones worth having from day one

By GuestChat Team ·

Almost every guest question comes at one of three moments: before the trip, on arrival and before leaving. If your message gets there before their question, the question never comes.

Where you set them up

In Conversations, with the Automatic messages button at the top. Each message has:

  • A moment: before or after check-in or check-out, after the booking is confirmed, on the check-in or check-out day, or after a cancellation.
  • A timing: minutes, hours or days, or a fixed local time.
  • The booking sites it goes out on, from the ones you have connected.

The three must-haves

  1. Instructions before arrival, a couple of days before check-in. With the {llavero} and {instrucciones} tags.
  2. Welcome on check-in, on the check-in day at a fixed time.
  3. Reminder before check-out, the afternoon before, with {hora_salida}.

There are starter templates for each one. The Insert a tag button shows you all the tags you can use.

Languages

Write the message in Spanish and tap Auto-translate to the other language. Guests who speak Spanish get the Spanish version; everyone else gets the English one, and if the guest speaks another language (French, German…), it is translated into theirs when it is sent.

Two details that save you headaches

  • A "before" message with a timing of 0 never goes out. Set at least one hour.
  • For check-out, try the Farewell on departure day: the AI writes based on how the stay went, does not ask for a review if there were problems, and does not write at all if there is an open report.
