The affiliate program: recommend GuestChat and get paid for it

By GuestChat Team ·

Many hosts end up being the one who answers everyone else's questions: the local group, the neighbor who's just starting, the accounting firm that handles several owners. If you recommend GuestChat to other hosts, the affiliate program lets you earn a commission for each one who signs up and pays.

Where to find it

On the GuestChat website, at the bottom of the page, Affiliate program. It's a separate portal with its own sign-in: you don't get in with your dashboard account.

How to join

  1. Apply under "I want to join". Tell us who you'll recommend us to and how: it helps us approve you sooner.
  2. We review every application by hand. While it's under review, you can fill in your payout details.
  3. Once approved, you sign in with "I am an affiliate".

Your link

In My link you have your personal link and your code. Here's how it works:

  • Sending someone to any GuestChat page with your link counts as a click.
  • If they sign up within the number of days set in the terms, they're tied to you for good (if they accepted cookies; if not, it only counts if they sign up during that same visit).
  • If someone arrives first through another affiliate's link, the customer belongs to whoever got there first.
  • Someone who was already a customer can't be credited to you.

You also have ready-made texts for social media, email or your website. Copy them as they are or change them, but always include your link.

Commissions

Each customer who pays earns you a commission. First it stays On hold for a few guarantee days, and then it moves to Available. If a payment is refunded, the commission is cancelled or reduced in proportion. It's paid out once your available balance reaches the minimum set in the terms, by bank transfer or PayPal, using the details you enter in My details. Your taxes are your own responsibility.

What you see in your portal

  • Overview: clicks in the last 30 days, sign-ups, paying customers and conversion.
  • Customers: each one with their status (on trial, paying, payment failed, free, cancelled). For privacy you don't see their name, only their number and status.
  • Commissions and Payouts, with their dates.
  • Terms: read them in full before you start.

What you can't do

  • Sign yourself or your own company up with your link.
  • Bid on ads for the brand name.
  • Send unsolicited mass email.
  • Promise prices, discounts or features that don't exist.

The last one is the most important. Recommend what you use and talk about what works for you. Nothing causes more cancellations than a customer who arrived expecting something that wasn't there.

How to recommend well

  • Talk about your own case: what it saves you and what it doesn't.
  • Show your dashboard to anyone who asks, with made-up or hidden data.
  • Help the people you refer in their first days: a customer who gets off to a good start stays, and your commission stays with them.
